For Peers

Miller Rothlein offers professional peers a platform for independent work within the artistic and international communities in which we are anchored. These “mobile residencies” are appropriate for individuals interested in contemporary criticism, anthropology, personal art practice, and dance/video or cultural studies.  Opportunities are posted to the MIRO website as well as to a network of colleges as they become available, and expressions of interest are welcome.

TRAVEL WITH US

  • Cross-Cultural Observership

Miller Rothlein has a long history of working with international partners, with projects in Germany and an ongoing collaboration with Khmer Arts Ensemble in Cambodia. (Other residencies have included: Poland, Holland, England, and India.)

Graduate students, faculty and advanced undergraduates seeking independent study have the opportunity to travel with Miller Rothlein as we engage in international projects.  Plugging into the local environment, the company most often focuses on the boundary between the contemporary & traditional arts.  Each observership is a tailored combination of one’s own individual research and practice (in the form of dissertation research, independent study, continuing education or sabbatical travel) and MIRO’s base of translators and highly specialized local connections.
